From unsigned professionals seeking their next opportunity to experienced players ready to compete, Team USBN is building a unique roster for the 2027 United States Basketball Championship.
TEAM USBN — A new opportunity is coming to professional basketball in 2027, and Team USBN is preparing to take the court for its inaugural season in the United States Basketball Championship (USBC) Champion League.
As the official Player Development and Showcase Team of the United States Basketball Network (USBN), Team USBN is built around a different approach to professional basketball. While traditional teams focus primarily on building a consistent roster to compete for championships, our mission also includes creating opportunities for talented basketball players to demonstrate their abilities, gain exposure, and pursue their next opportunity in the game.
Our philosophy is simple:
Earn Your Opportunity.
Through the USBNsi Player Market, we are actively identifying and evaluating basketball players interested in competing during the 2027 USBC season.
Whether you're a former college basketball player looking for your first professional opportunity, an experienced professional searching for your next contract, or a talented player who simply wants to get back on the court, Team USBN offers a different way to compete.
Not Your Traditional Professional Basketball Team
What makes Team USBN different?
Our roster is designed to bring together players with different backgrounds, experiences, and professional goals.
Some players will join Team USBN because they are actively pursuing permanent roster positions with professional basketball organizations. Others may be experienced professionals between contracts, former collegiate standouts seeking additional exposure, or talented players who are temporarily available and want an opportunity to compete.
Imagine an experienced professional basketball player visiting the area who wants to stay active and compete in a meaningful game. Or a recent college graduate who has the talent to play professionally but has not yet received the right opportunity.
Both players could find themselves wearing a Team USBN uniform.
That flexibility is part of what makes our team unique.
Rather than requiring every player to fit a traditional season-long roster model, Team USBN is designed to accommodate different player situations while maintaining competitive standards, eligibility requirements, and team needs.
Our goal is to assemble talented, competitive rosters that represent the USBN professionally while giving deserving athletes an opportunity to demonstrate what they can do.
Real Games. Real Competition. Real Opportunities.
We believe one of the best ways to evaluate a basketball player is to watch that player compete in a real basketball game.
A highlight video can demonstrate athleticism. A basketball resume can document experience. A workout can showcase individual skills.
But actual competition reveals much more.
How does a player perform under pressure? How does that player defend? Can they make the right decisions against quality competition? Can they contribute to winning basketball?
Those questions are answered on the court.
During the 2027 season, Team USBN will compete in the USBC Champion League, the highest level of competition within the United States Basketball Championship.
Our players will have opportunities to compete against talented athletes representing other Champion League teams, including the Georgia Kangaroos, Augusta Groove, Duluth Express, North Cobb Aviators, and Stone Mountain Titans.
These are not simply workouts or isolated showcase events.
They are organized professional basketball games within the USBN competition system.
Through USBN's digital platforms, including USBNtv, league statistics, team news, and player coverage, those performances can become valuable additions to a player's basketball portfolio.
For an unsigned player, one strong performance could help create the next conversation with a coach, general manager, or team owner.
A Team Built Around Player Movement and Opportunity
One of our most important objectives is helping players advance beyond Team USBN.
For some athletes, playing for Team USBN could be the beginning of their professional basketball journey. For others, it may be a temporary opportunity between professional contracts.
We recognize that our roster may evolve throughout the season.
A player might compete in several games before receiving an opportunity with another organization. Another player might join us later in the season after becoming available.
That movement is not necessarily a setback for Team USBN.
When a player earns an opportunity to advance their professional basketball career, that represents success for our development mission.
Our objective is to create a competitive environment where talented players can continue building their resumes while remaining available for appropriate professional opportunities, subject to applicable roster and eligibility rules.
We want coaches, scouts, agents, and team executives to recognize Team USBN as a place to discover players who are actively competing and ready for their next opportunity.
USBNsi Player Market: Your Pathway to Team USBN
Player recruitment for the inaugural 2027 season is underway through the USBNsi Player Market, the United States Basketball Network's player identification, evaluation, and placement platform.
The Player Market helps connect basketball players seeking opportunities with teams looking for talent.
Instead of relying exclusively on open tryouts or expensive basketball showcases, USBN uses player information, basketball experience, and available game film to help evaluate prospective players.
Players can create profiles that document their basketball backgrounds and provide information for consideration by participating USBC teams.
For Team USBN, the Player Market is an important part of identifying athletes who could benefit from our unique playing opportunities.
We are particularly interested in players who have completed their college basketball eligibility, unsigned professional players, former professionals looking to return to competition, and experienced players available to compete during the 2027 season.
There is no guarantee of selection or a professional contract. Our goal is to provide qualified players with a legitimate opportunity to be evaluated based on their basketball abilities, experience, availability, and potential contribution to the team.
Preparing for the 2027 United States Basketball Championship
Team USBN's inaugural season is part of the continued development of the United States Basketball Network and its professional basketball competition system.
The 2027 USBC Champion League is scheduled to begin in May 2027, bringing together six teams for a planned 20-game-per-team regular season.
For Team USBN, the upcoming season represents an opportunity to demonstrate how a player development and showcase team can operate within a competitive professional basketball league.
We want to build a team that competes hard, represents the USBN professionally, and creates meaningful opportunities for the players who earn the right to wear our jersey.
Every game is an opportunity to compete.
Every performance is an opportunity to be evaluated.
Every player has an opportunity to build their basketball story.
And for some, that story could lead to the next chapter of their professional career.
